It was another strong couple of weeks for young Americans in Major League Soccer. Caleb Wiley retains the top spot thanks to a sizzling first few weeks. With Andrew Gutman injured, Wiley has moved to his more natural left-back position.
Brian Gutierrez rises up the list thanks to a couple starts and assists and Jalen Neal also makes a big jump after he retains his starting job and scores his first career goal.
Noel Buck also moved into the top 5 after a game winner and continued steady play for the Revolution. Chris Brady has recovered well after a poor mistake in his first start. He earned his first clean sheet last weekend.
Cade Cowell and Darren Yapi are two attackers that are putting up solid expected goals and assists numbers but have yet to record their first score contribution. Cowell did help San Jose secure a win by earning a penalty last weekend.
A few other notes from the last two weekends include a nice start by Josh Atencio, back to back starts for Brooklyn Raines, Jacob Greene earning time for Wayne Rooney and Malik Pinto has found some playing time in Cincinnati.
