The United States U-17 team put the world’s top clubs on notice that the next Pulisic could be in this batch. They have officially put their quarter down on the corner of the table and called next.
The lads dropped four goals on Mexico defeating the U-17 team for the first time in their history while taking one step closer to World Cup qualifying. The victory secured their spot in the next round of qualifying and really showed some skill that should help many of these MLS academy players get attention abroad. It should also help many of the high school players quickly get signed by MLS if not by an academy overseas. Sargent’s brace showed some real skill and deserves attention.
Goals from Ayo Akinola (Toronto FC Academy), the brace from Josh Sargent (Scott Gallagher) and Blain Ferri (Solar Chelsea SC) were all solid and it was a complete team performance.
